Moving towards much shorter hours of paid work offers a new route out of the multiple crises we face today. Many of us are consuming well beyond our economic means and well beyond the limits of the natural environment, yet in ways that fail to improve our well-being – and meanwhile many others suffer poverty and hunger. Continuing economic growth in high-income countries will make it impossible to achieve urgent carbon reduction targets. Widening inequalities, a failing global economy, critically depleted natural resources and accelerating climate change pose grave threats to the future of human civilisation.

Ganhas 1/3 de um curso universitário e treino como voluntário e ativista na luta contra a pobreza.
“Fighting with the Poor / A Certificate “ – Programa de 24 meses:
- 6 meses de estudos de relações internacionais com especialização em norte/sul, riqueza e pobreza;
- 3 meses de trabalho e poupança a preparar para viajar;
- 3 meses em terra com a tua equipa – de autocarro, land rover ou transporte público – para o teu destino na África;
- 6 meses de trabalho voluntário num projecto de desenvolvimento comunitário com a Humana People to People;
- 6 meses de conclusão, reportagens e jornalismo + estudos e exames finais.
Não precisas de experiência prévia ou qualificações para te juntares ao programa.
Precisas de ter no mínimo 18 anos e ter tido 12 anos de escola.
Tens de ter um passaporte da U.E., ser trabalhador, flexível…e estar pronto para grandes desafios!
Os custos do curso, são para cobrir o treino e despesas de transporte. O programa de bolsa de estudos está disponível desde Agosto de 2015.

Liberdade Já / Freedom Now
“Várias personalidades ligadas a Angola apelaram às autoridades do país para libertarem os “jovens democratas” detidos no mês passado, em Luanda, através de um vídeo, partilhado no domingo no YouTube. Escritores, músicos, jornalistas, activistas e pessoas de outras áreas da sociedade, autodenominados “cidadãos independentes de Angola e do mundo”, pedem “respeito pela liberdade de expressão e pensamento”, consagradas na Constituição angolana.
Os escritores José Eduardo Agualusa e Ondjaki e o músico Kalaf Epalanga são algumas das personalidades que aparecem no vídeo e acusam o Governo de Angola de ainda não ter apresentado quaisquer provas, sobre a acusação de “tentativa de golpe de Estado” e a detenção de um grupo de jovens, a 20 de Junho de 2015.
O vídeo intitula-se de Liberdade Já | Freedom Now e é da autoria da comunidade Liberdade aos Presos Políticos em Angola, uma página na rede social Facebook, que luta pela defesa dos direitos daqueles que estão atrás das grades sob acusações semelhantes às dos jovens referidos no vídeo. O texto publicado junto da gravação, no YouTube, pede às pessoas que se solidarizem com a causa e que enviem para os autores os seus depoimentos.”

What is the Real Solution for this Problem??
The image here is contradictory, as well as their “destiny” after reaching the “destiny country”.
If they don`t die from the cause of migrating from their country, they might “die” from the “solution” of having to wait for a Real one in their destiny country. If they don`t die in the way, of course.
This is a Human problem, without a plausible and sustainable solution.
The causes are complex, very, as well as the solutions might also be. We believe that the solution here presented it`s not a finite one, as it`s not tackling it´s causes by it´s roots.

People smugglers and traffickers often endanger the lives of those they carry, packing too many people on to small or poorly-serviced vessels. As such, they have become a focus in governments’ efforts to combat the recent explosion in migrant deaths in the Mediterranean. But these gangs are just one link in a long and complex chain. People are driven to leave their home countries by war and other serious problems, and when they arrive at their destinations host governments are often at a loss as to what to do with them. Should those who carry these desperate people for part of their journey be our main focus in tackling this problem?

COFFEE VS. GANGS
“Coffee vs Gangs: a new opportunity for a group of young people in Honduras.
For young Hondurans, gangs are a constant threat. Joining one may sometimes seem like the only option for survival. At Kenco, we want to make a difference, so we’re starting by offering a group of vulnerable young people a chance at a better life. By training them as coffee farmers, we’re offering an alternative to gangs and an opportunity for a new future.
Over the next 11 months, they’ll learn everything from the basics of coffee farming to running their own business. Starting in September, you’ll be able to meet the participants and follow their stories.”
A very interesting project, born in Honduras, that gives youngest another opportunity of investing in their lives in a positive way.
We believe that education and knowledge open doors to empowerment for a self sustainable life! 🙂

Quanto a nós, depois de lermos as críticas ao filme e vermos o trailler, afirmamos que não apenas pela curiosidade que a imagética que o filme suscita, mas também pelo tema abordado, controversia gerada depois de negado na competição oficial, mas indiciado para a “Quinzena dos Realizadores” do mesmo Festival, pelo misticismo criado pela triologia, estamos curiosos para assistir na primeira fila ao resultado final. E vocês?
“Cinema de fábula mutante” que retrata vários episódios da história da crise económica portuguesa desde que a troika lá entrou.
“No início de As Mil e Uma Noites, Miguel Gomes foge, assustado perante a loucura que é propor-se fazer um filme que documentasse o empobrecimento dos portugueses na era da troika e ao mesmo tempo que tivesse o direito de delirar com a fantasia. É o tal filme que nem sequer podia ter argumento escrito, porque tudo estava dependente do que acontecesse em Portugal, nas páginas dos jornais, entre Agosto de 2013 e Julho de 2014. As Mil e Uma Noites podia ter apenas uma veemente mas alucinada proposta de produção e rodagem: filmar tudo em cima dos acontecimentos, com a equipa, técnica e artística, a formar-se com urgência para acorrer aos vários cantos do país e dar conta da realidade, e reformular o Portugal da crise em directo.”
